Audiometric Testing monitors an employee’s hearing over time. It also provides the opportunity to educate employees on the importance of hearing and the need to protect it. Different loudness and speed and sound wave are tested to detect any abnormalities to employees’ hearing in loud working environment. Employers are required to measure noise levels, provide free annual hearing exams, hearing protection, and training; and conduct evaluations of the adequacy of the hearing protectors in use to all employees who are exposed to an action level of 85 dB or above, measured as an 8-hour TWA.
