Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health for Lighting at Workplace 2018 by Department of Occupational Safety and Health are used as guideline in ensuring comfortable visual environments and appropriate lighting according to the interior for better safety, health and welfare of the employee. Good lighting contributes to safety and health by enabling employees to perform their work efficiently as well as faster reaction times to hazard when it is easier to see.
The objectives for this monitoring are:
- To identify the potential hazards arising from the work activity under the current lighting condition;
- To evaluate the risks; and
- To decide improvement measures needed to protect the employees.
The guidelines will act as guide for us to help you in complying with these acts; (1) Factories and Machinery Act (FMA) 1967; (2) Factories and Machinery (Safety, Health and Welfare) Regulations, 1970 and; (3) Section 15 Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994
